"You probably remember your first year at university, which passed like a moment. The diploma you receive today is a symbol of your efforts, perseverance and determination. It reflects your ability to think critically, your awareness of how the world works and how you can change it," the Dean told the 216 graduates that received diplomas at the ceremony.
Of those graduating, 17 students were from abroad. Six students were also awarded "Leader's" diplomas for excellent grades and graduated at the top of their class.
Four "Leader's" diplomas were awarded to Bachelor's Degree Social Work students: Jolanta Kručkauskaitė, Rasa Petkevičienė, Ina Jasiukonienė and Violeta Staugaitienė. Two "Leader's" diplomas were awarded to Master's Degree Communication studies students: Skaistė Mickūnaitė and Ovidija Ferencienė.
MRU Deputy Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saulius Spurga congratulated students during the graduation ceremony.
Graduating students also addressed fellow students and guests at the ceremony including Educational Sciences and Social Work graduate Dominykas Rinkevičius, Master's Degree students Rūta Sungailienė and Margarita Jusel; Communication Institute Bachelor's Degree grad Fidel Henry Nnaji, Communication Institute Bachelor's Degree graduate Uldana Yertayeva; Psychology Bachelor's Degree graduate Leyla Taghizade, and fellow Psychology graduate Rasa Tamošiūnaitė.
