The company, having announced this year about its development and the need for aviation specialists, has contributed nearly 29,000 euros to practical training of young aircraft pilots. Scientists from VU Institute of Biochemistry joined the R&D project INMARE funded by EU Horizon 2020 Program2015-04-11, 09:30A new international consortium of more than 20 partners from academia and industry from 12 countries, including leading multinational industrial partners, joined for a four year EUR 6M collaborative project. The project INMARE ("Industrial Applications of Marine Enzymes: innovative screening and expression platforms to discover and use the functional protein diversity from the sea") is funded by the EU Horizon 2020 Program and led by Prof. Peter Golyshin and Dr. Olga Golyshina from Bangor University (Great Britain). Vilnius University will be represented by the scientists from the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology (Institute of Biochemistry), headed by Dr. Rolandas Meškys. Bone Marrow Transplant Centre of the Vilnius University Hospital „Santariškių klinikos" (further on – VU Transplant Centre) equals to the most advanced European medical transplant centres and is definitely the leader in the Baltic countries. VU Transplant Centre leads not only by the number of transplants performed but also by the positive outcomes. A unique exhibition of Lithuanian Art will be opened on 10 April, 6.30 p.m. and will run for a year at the Lithuanian Embassy in London. U-Multirank, the new global university ranking, released its second edition online. This year 1,200 higher education institutions from 83 countries took part in the ranking. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) scored 10 No.1 assessments in four categories (out of five). This result is among the best in Lithuania. Kaunas University of Technology has significant impact on the development of the region and the State, sets a leadership standard for other institutions, accommodates best laboratories in Lithuania and undertakes world-class research, according to international and Lithuanian experts. For the second time the "U-Multirank" published its ratings, where fourteen higher education institutions of Lithuania were also assessed. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) received the highest scores – ten points, followed by Kaunas Technology University (KTU) – nine points, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) – eight points, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) – seven points and Vilnius University (VU) - six points. The Old Town, Royal Baths, Wilanów, Palace of Culture and Science, Warsaw Uprising Museum, National Museum, the Copernicus Science Centre, National Stadium, and Multimedia Fountain Park - these are Top 10 sites to be seen in the capital according to the Warsaw City Hall. |
