KTU Council has met on Tuesday 16 May and decided that the Council wants to meet again with the two candidates who received the most votes during the first meeting – Renata Urbonė and Eugenijus Valatka.

On May 11th, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology Prof. Dr. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk visited Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH). She met with the Rector of VILNIUS TECH Professor Romualdas Kliukas, the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Assoc Prof Dr Remigijus Šalna, and Professor of the Department of Building Materials and Fire Safety Prof. Dr. Džigita Nagrockienė.

The final round of the 5th Economics Game, "Bosas ne basas 2023," took place on May 5th. The Department of Economic Engineering of the Faculty of Business Management at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), together with social partners - the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, the Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania, the State Enterprise State Data Agency, UAB "Investicijų ir verslo garantijos", InnoSeven Technologies UAB, and Western Union - brought together 9th-12th grade pupils for the event.

Lithuania's Vilnius University intends to join the IBM Quantum Innovation Center at Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC), as the institutions declare plans for cooperation in the field of quantum technologies, identifying new areas of R&D work and mutual development of competences in this area. The Letter of Intent starting the cooperation has been signed on May 10, during the Impact'23 in Poznan.

May 8th, 2023, in Palanga, representatives of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) discussed new areas of cooperation with University alumni from the Klaipėda region. New study and scientific innovations at the university were presented. MRU alumni, who are developing their careers in the Klaipėda region, were invited to continue participating in University community activities thus passing on their knowledge and experience to the younger generation.

KTU Public Governance and Civil Society students Akvilė Damošiūtė and Skaistė Valickaitė were impressed by the knowledge this study programme offers, and the possibility to travel for one semester to the University of Central Florida (UCF) in the US.

The nine-member Universities and three associated partners of the ATHENA European University are proud to launch the third edition of the Europe Day ATHENATHON, a sporting event destined to reach a distance of 13 000 km.

As blockchain technology evolves, the former power of regulations and norms in the industry becomes limited. Industry players may use four strategic tactics, discussed below, to exploit existing multilevel formal and informal institutional voids. Especially in the context of global business, the innovative usage of public permissionless blockchain technology makes it increasingly easier to circumvent even newly adopted regulations, rendering previous industry norms obsolete.

In March, Vilnius University held two Arqus R&I mini-webinars on "Co-Creation Labs in Practice: Co-creating, Implementing, and Learning from Social-Oriented Science Activities". The webinars were joined by Arqus researchers from all career stages, disciplines, and cross-disciplinary research fields from Vilnius, Granada, Padua, Graz, Leipzig, Lyon, and Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University.
