May 18th-19th, 2023, the “INSOL Europe” Eastern European Countries’ Committee Conference (EECCC), which will focus on “2023 Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners survival Kit,” will be held in Vilnius. It is organised in cooperation with Mykolas Romeris University (MRU).

Light Conversion, a major ultrafast laser technology company, together with the family of late academician Prof. Algis Petras Piskarskas (1942-2022), has made a donation of 200,000 euro to the Vilnius University Foundation. At the request of the patrons, the donation has created a restricted endowment sub-fund in the name of Prof. Piskarskas, the returns of which will be allocated for the named scholarships to laser physics talents.

On 3–5 May, a visit of an international team of experts of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) will take place at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU). The expert group composed by SKVC will assess the performance of VMU.

No single one practice is sufficient for greater innovation performance, say the researchers, overviewing the results of the most recent PDMA’s 2021 global survey. The Best companies, according to the results, are better at employing multiple types of innovation, but the spend more time on radical innovation, are oriented towards risk-taking, and employ long-term strategies. The results were drawn from responses from 651 companies in 37 countries, the most extensive PDMA survey so far.

Global subject rankings of universities "QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023" have been published, in which world universities are ranked according to specific fields of study and science. For the 5th year in a row, Mykolas Romeris University's (MRU) Law School is the only one of all Lithuanian higher education institutions to be among the beset universities in the world in the field of Law, and ranked 201-250 position.

On 24-27 April, Vilnius University (VU) Life Sciences Center will host the 17th international student-led life sciences conference "The COINS 2023. Changing the World Step by Step: from Theory to Practice". It is one of the largest student-organised life science conferences in Europe, attracting science stars from all over the world.

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) joined the project „Pilot courses in Practice Enterprise to implement the University-Enterprise Cooperation for the development of Caspian Area (PICASP)“. During the project will be developed and disseminated the new training methodologies, including company practices and MOOCs.

The Arqus Alliance is launching the online pilot training programme "Arqus Transfer Skills", to explore the many ways in which universities engage with their local ecosystems and offer a platform to exchange on these issues. As universities are moving towards more participatory and open forms of doing research as well as communicating scientific output, there are a lot of new and challenging arenas for researchers to engage in.

April 14th-15th, 2023, the two-day Lithuanian Psychologists Congress 2023, organized by the Institute of Psychology of the Faculty of Human and Social Studies and the Lithuanian Psychologists Union, was held at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU). On the first day, more than 100 scientists and practitioners from various fields of psychology were in attendance.

Registration for the traditional Vilnius University (VU) event "Student for a Day" has begun. During it, participants will have the opportunity to try out student chair, experience how studies are conducted at a higher education institution, and get to know more about the study programs of interest.
