EducationThis year, the winners of the annual Vilnius University (VU) Foundation competition held to attract young researchers are Dr. Ilona Jurkonytė and doctoral student Marija Norkūnaitė, candidates nominated by the VU Institute of International Relations and Political Science and Dr. Šarūnas Šavėla, nominated by the VU Faculty of Philology. Today, the seminar of the Francophone University Agency (AUF) has started at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) to discuss science and sports diplomacy and other relevant topics. The seminar is attended by representatives of AUF units, ambassadors of France, Canada, Armenia, Georgia and Romania. The event will last two days. On September 4th launched VILNIUS TECH Digital Badge System, designed to help students in participating university activities and improving their competencies. The main goal of this system is to award students with badges for their involvement in events, training sessions, conferences, event organization, volunteering, and other exceptional achievements. Later on, they receive certificates that prove their experience. Research ethics and academic ethics are by far not the only questions related to the research integrity topic. A cooperation agreement has been signed between MRU and the Ukrainian branch of the European Association of Mediation Judges (GEMME): the Rector, Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė, and the Executive Director of GEMME Ukraine, Alina Sierhieva, have confirmed the already implemented social partnership in the areas of development of mediation and the qualification and training of Ukrainian judges, notaries, attorneys at law, and other lawyers in the field of alternative dispute resolution. |
