At the beginning of April, Swiss ambassador Nicolas Brühl visited Vilnius University during his stay at the Baltic States and met with the Lithuanian team of the project ‘Swiss-Lithuanian Ferroelectrics’ (SLIFE).

June 26th - July 3th, 2016 the International Summer School, “Tourism in the 21st Century: Reflections and Experiences,” will be held at Mykolas Romeris University, (MRU) Vilnius, Lithuania.

The European Commission has announced a €52 million humanitarian aid package aimed specifically at educational projects for children in emergency situations in 2016. The package reflects the Commission's prior commitment to allocate 4% of its humanitarian aid budget to education.

Quantum physics not only explains how matter behaves at the subatomic level, but is also used to create many devices in our everyday lives, from lasers and transistors to GPS and mobile phones. The next wave of innovation could lead to unbreakable encryption and computers that are up to one million times faster. On 6 April, Parliament's Science and Technology Options Assessment (STOA) unit organised a workshop to discuss with experts the potential of these new quantum technologies.
