The hub opened in Vilnius will house start-ups from Lithuania and the whole of the region, which will join a global network of companies shaping the future of financial services. Young people who create innovative financial products and services will have an opportunity to collaborate with the most influential international experts, exchange experience with colleagues across the world and use modern co-working spaces in four continents.
According to the President, although Britain has decided to leave the European Union, its companies are expanding their activities in Lithuania. This is a significant accomplishment of bright and vigorous Lithuanian people. The opening of Rise Vilnius in Lithuania is yet another proof that we are an innovative country, building an advanced future. We have many talents and we can keep them here in Lithuania.
Dalia Grybauskaitė also emphasized that nobody was isolated in the global world and therefore innovations created in each and every country could benefit not only its people but also the whole of the world.
The community of innovating start-ups is growing fast in Lithuania, and Vilnius is considered to be one of key start-up hubs in the region. Our country is home to more than 400 business start-ups with 2500 employees on their staff list. Over the last decade, Lithuanian start-ups have attracted more than 165 million euros of investment, two thirds of which have been attracted over the past two years.
During the opening of Rise Vilnius, Lithuanian start-ups Trackduck, Pulse, Worapay, Deloyal, and Welltrado – the first ones based in this hub – which create payment, investment and other smart technologies, also presented their business ideas.
