EducationThe International Bureau of Education (IBE-UNESCO) launched the first postgraduate Certificate In Curriculum Design and Development for Central-East Europe Central Asia together with VMU in Lithuania on 28 November. This will be followed by UNESCO IBE’s first postgraduate Diploma for the Arab States in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 4 December. A group of student counsellors providing free, one-on-one, confidential, walk-in services to VMU students. Currently student-initiated and student-run group is in its second year and introduce improvements such as counselling in English. If you are feeling down, experiencing difficulties in your life, need someone to talk to but are hesitant to see a professional counsellor, come to Student to Student Peer Counselling, they are waiting for you and would be happy to talk to you. As peer counsellors, they provide a supportive atmosphere where students can openly talk about their feelings. Last week the Research Council of Lithuania (LMT) has announced the research and study institutions who were allocated funding from the Council for submitting the research projects for the EU Research and Innovation programme Horizon2020. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is the most active among Lithuanian institutions: 54 project applications were approved and allocated LMT funding. Putvinskio Street) VMU students are invited to attend the public lecture “Formal Modelling of Creole Languages with Tree-Adjoining Grammars” with lecturer Pascal Vaillant. 55 students occupied the managing positions at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) on Thursday, 17 November. On the occasion of the International Student Day, the University’s managing group, deans and vice-deans of all the faculties, and Kaunas Municipality officials rendered the power of decision-making into students’ hands. |
