The Strongest Universities of Lithuania Take Charge of Higher Education Advancement2017-01-21, 14:12The Rectors of four Lithuanian universities – Vilnius University, Kaunas University of Technology, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Lithuanian University of Health Sciences – have signed the Protocol of Intentions to create the Conference for Advancement of Universities. On 16 January 2017, Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, met with Choi Sung-joo, Ambassador of South Korea. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and, in particular, opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the areas of education, science and innovation in order to attract Korean investment to Lithuania. From this Thursday, 19 January, the cycle of seminars at DesignLibrary Kaunas starts. Design Thursdays, which will take place at KTU Santaka Valley will cover topics from engineering to user-inspired design, will take audience to a design journey through time. E. Gijsbert Hendrik Christiaan van der Lingen. The number of state universities in Lithuania has to be cut to no more than five, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis said on Wednesday 11 January 2017. Last week the meeting of Vice-Rectors of Innovation and Research of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) took place at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Santaka Valley. The aim of the visit was to find common interests and ways to improve the competitiveness of the research and innovation activities at ECIU member universities. “Competencies cross the continents”, Stephanie Krick, Interim Director at Public Administration Undergraduate Program at University of Central Florida (UCF) is convinced. Later this year Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and UCF are planning to finalise the processes of creating a joint degree public administration study programme.
