President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with the leaders of eight Baltic and Central European countries to exchange views on preparations for the upcoming NATO summit as well as to discuss the implementation of the Wales agreements reached a year ago and NATO's further defense and deterrence steps to ensure the security of the region. Taking part at the summit was the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Alexander Vershbow.

On Wednesday and Thursday European Parliament President Martin Schulz will travel to Athens and Lesbos to discuss the migration crisis and will be present for the departure of the first relocated refugees from Greece.

Parliamentary elections took place on 1 November 2015 in the Republic of Azerbaijan. No agreement was reached between the Azerbaijani authorities and OSCE/ODIHR on the number of electoral observers, which compelled OSCE/ODIHR to cancel its election observation mission; an Election Observation Mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was deployed.

The European Commission will give €28 million in humanitarian aid to support Syrians displaced by the conflict in their host communities in Jordan.

On 31 October, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius expressed his condolences over the Russian plane crash in Egypt that claimed lives of many people.

The Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alena Kupchina held consultations on 30 October in Vilnius. Krivas called on Belarus to continue making positive steps towards strengthening respect for human rights, the rule of law and democracy.

In a meeting with the Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni on 28 October in Rome, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius drew attention to the successful development of cooperation in the field of defence and thanked his counterpart for Italy's contribution to strengthening security in the region – Italian fighter jets guarded the Baltic airspace for eight months this year.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Turkey and the people of Turkey on the occasion of the national holiday, Republic Day.

On 27 October, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Natalia Gherman, who is paying a working visit to Vilnius. The officials discussed topical issues relating to Moldova's European integration agenda and signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of economic diplomacy.

EU provides €365.5 million to promote private sector development, democratic reforms and better living conditions in Southern Mediterranean partner countries (Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco).
