On November 29, President Dalia Grybauskaitė is leaving for Brussels and Paris on a two-day working visit. On Sunday, she will attend the EU-Turkey summit in the Belgian capital. On November 30, the President will deliver a speech at the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris. The Seimas of Lithuania on Tuesday refused to award the annual Freedom Prize to the country's first factual leader Vytautas Landsbergis after 53 lawmakers voted in favor, 13 were against and 48 abstained. Buying insurance will be made easier and safer following Parliament's vote on Tuesday tightening EU rules on the information and advice provided by insurance sales staff. The current rules on sales of insurance have been amended to introduce similar information and consumer protection requirements for all insurance distribution channels unless they meet the conditions for exemption. At the invitation of President Dalia Grybauskaitė, a meeting between the Presidents of the Baltic States was held in Palanga. A traditional, top-level meeting, which was attended by Latvian President Raimonds Vējonis and Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, is held every year in a different Baltic state. Last year, the Presidents of the Baltic countries met in Estonia. MEPs called on Wednesday for more focus on migration and security and more flexibility in the revised European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), after foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and neighbourhood policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn presented their proposals for a new ENP to the foreign affairs committee.
