KTU's SEB is among the 700 best business schools in the world. On Thursday 5 November, 10 a.m., at the VMU Music Academy (5 V. Čepinskio, Room 421), Higher Education Academy lecturer Kathy Wright will hold a seminar. The Commission is today launching a new initiative to ensure that taxpayer money is spent efficiently by improving the synergies between EU funding for regional policy and for research. In order to keep their national forests clean and safe, countries all over the world employ a large number of highly qualified foresters. Unfortunately, the most common parasite that these brave men and women are up against is a human being. Luckily, with the help of scientists from Kaunas University of Technology, our local foresters are now armed with a high-tech solution designed to facilitate the capture of forest crooks, at least those of the thieving kind. Van Williams, CIO of American company Virtustream states that the local talent pool was one of the main reasons for opening a Lithuanian office in Kaunas. In his article, which is being published on IDG Connect, the world's largest technology media company website, Williams praises IT professionals prepared at KTU. Every year the Centre for Asian Studies (CAS) at VMU organizes a conference on East Asia from the perspective of various research disciplines. Past conferences focused on sociological or religious aspects of East Asian societies. This year's topic is economy, particularly trade and other economic relations between the EU, its eastern neighbourhood, and East Asia. The event will take place on October 21-22, in VMU Small Hall (Daukanto 28, Kaunas). On 6-8 October, the delegation of Lund University – the leading university of Sweden, visited Vilnius University (VU). Artūras Žukauskas, VU Rector and Rimantas Jankauskas, VU Vice-rector met with Torbjörn von Schantz, the head of Lund University. The King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden will visit Vilnius University (VU) on 7-8 October. The Royal couple coming back to the VU after 23 years will participate in the opening of the photo exhibition, will meet professor Artūras Žukauskas, the VU Rector, attend a festive concert at the Church of St. Johns.
