Saba Tavelishvili, second year student of VMU Master programme in International Relations and Diplomacy from Georgia, talks about his experience at Vytautas Magnus University.

June 8th, 2017, diplomas were awarded to 24 graduates of the European joint Master's Degree programme Strategic Border Management. The graduation ceremony was held at Spain's University of Salamanca, one of six universities implementing the programme.

Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) welcomes international students to apply for 12 Bachelor and 20 Master degree study programmes in the English language. Application deadlines for studies in the 2017/2018 Fall Semester are 20 June (Sociolinguistics and Multilingualism) and 1 July (all other programmes). Application submissions have to be sent online.

From 2012 the partnership between VGTU and universities of Taiwan was based on bilateral agreements – student exchange, staff, personnel and scientist visits were being executed. From 2011 to 2015 more than 40 exchange students studied in VGTU: architecture, building engineering, electronical engineering, mechanics and business management. 6 students of VGTU in the past 3 years spent one semester each in partner universities in Taiwan. To make the partnership grow stronger universities of Taiwan and VGTU exchange the delagations of Heads of offices, analyze the infrastructure of partnerships, representatives of Taiwan universities attended conferences organized by VGTU. Most professors in Taiwan universities got their degrees in best universities in western universities and it has a big potential in VGTU.

The Council of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) has taken a decision in favor of Lithuania’s associate membership in the organization.

Mathematicians of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) initiated a unique workshop for answering industry challenges by applying mathematical solutions. Although similar workshops have been organised around the world for several years already, it is the first time in Lithuania when the mathematicians will offer their solutions for businesses.

EY Baltic is a member firm of Ernst & Young Global Limited, which is a global leader in Assurance, Tax, Transactions and Advisory services. The new international universities’ ranking 2017 – 2018 QS World University Rankings revealed a new landmark for Lithuanian higher education – two Lithuanian universities made a significant progress in climbing up the ranking ladder and now are among the top 2,1% of the best universities in the world.
