The professor will give a series of lectures on Innovative pavement design. Innovative pavement design methods enable us to evaluate frost effect rationally and design pavement structures in optimal thickness, which ensures resistance to frost effect and requires the smallest amount of soils and natural aggregates. Factors affecting materials selection for road construction and effect of climate conditions and loading to pavement performance and durability will also be discussed during the series of lectures.
Dr. Terhi Kristiina Pellinen’s competence in the science is proved by the leadership and supervision in national and international projects, invitations to give presentations at conferences as well as lectures at universities in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia. She prepared and published more than 60 reports and 140 publications from which 75 have been published during the last 15 years. Dr. Terhi Kristiina Pellinen is an active member of international professional organizations (such as International union of laboratories and experts in construction materials, systems and structures (RILEM), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Association of Finnish Civil Engineering and etc.). Dr. Terhi Kristiina Pellinen has got two awards - the proof of the international recognition and input to the science development.
Dr. Terhi Kristiina Pellinen’s series of lectures is an excellent opportunity to learn from the best international practice in pavement design.
The series of lectures is for I, II and III study cycle students of Road and Transport engineering. Specialists from Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communication, Municipalities, Road and Transport Research Institute, Lithuanian regional companies concerned with road building are invited to attend the open lecture.
