As of 10 March, all passengers arriving or returning to Lithuania from abroad will be required to present a negative COVID-19 disease (coronavirus infection) test result obtained not earlier than 3 days before the arrival. This requirement applies to all modes of transport on international routes. This decision was adopted by the Government.

From March 1st, passenger travelling though Vilnius Airport will have the option of conveniently conducting the necessary Covid-19 test before or after the flight. Lithuanian laboratory “Rezus.lt” has opened a Coronavirus testing site in the premises of Lithuania’s main air gateway. The provider plans to open similar testing sites at Kaunas and Palanga airports in April.

EU criteria for safe and clean tourism, including a common vaccination certificate, should be a part of a new EU strategy on sustainable tourism, said MEPs.

“Belarusian electricity, which physically enters Lithuania via the BY-LT connection, is traded in the Latvian bidding area – in this way, Lithuania is consuming and paying for Belarusian electricity. This poses a threat to the Baltic electricity network synchronisation project, creates dependence on imports from third countries, and thus hinders the achievement of the European Union’s renewable energy targets,” said Minister of Energy Dainius Kreivys, who met remotely today with European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.
