SocietyOn the eve of World Cancer Day, Parliament’s Special Committee on Beating Cancer (BECA) backs EU wide effort to beat cancer. Vilnius TV tower, which was built a little more than four decades ago, has not been overhauled so far. However, it is stated in the report of the examination carried out that major reconstruction of both the main structure of the building and of the networks of the internal infrastructure needs to be done. Today, these matters have been discussed remotely by Marius Skuodis, the Minister of Transport and Communications, with the management of the SC Lithuanian Radio and Television Centre that operates this tower. Vilnius has been created for seven centuries now, and during all this time there have been many projects in the city that were planned, dreamed of, but they were never implemented for one reason or another. Therefore, on Wednesday the Government has decided to extend the lockdown until 28 February. The ban on moving between municipalities will be valid until 28 February as well. The European Parliament calls on EU countries to act on the housing crisis to invest more in decent homes and ensure everyone has access to affordable housing. |
