June 18, after two week of running, international Exercise Baltic Fortress 21 wrapped in Klaipėda. Over 1000 soldiers, 16 warships, and over 100 pieces of other military equipment from seven NATO allies were involved in the international exercise which was held by the Lithuanian Navy this year.

As of 1 July, the Lithuanian Road Administration is to launch registration of public electric cars charging points operators and charging points operated by them. Later on, this information is to be published on the Lithuanian Road Administration website www.eismoinfo.lt and in a mobile application. By 1 January 2022, the Administration plans to collect all necessary data and to develop a system of all public electric cars charging points operators and charging points, which will contain information on all charging points in Lithuania.

From 1 August, a simplified procedure for unmanned aircraft (drones) to operate within Lithuanian cities with airports will apply. Special requirements for such flights have been established in the amendments to the Aviation Law initiated by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which were approved by the Seimas.

Vilnius continues vaccination with first vaccine doses without any registration at the Litexpo (Laisvės pr. 5) vaccination center. Today, on the 21st of June, residents will be able to choose vaccines of two manufacturers – Pfizer -BioNTech or Moderna. Starting Tuesday, Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine only will be offered. This week, Vilnius received 21 000 doses of this vaccine.

The governing board of the International Energy Agency (IEA) – one of the most influential energy organisations in the world – officially invited Lithuania to become a member.

“Cooperation with Poland in the field of energy is exemplary. From 1 July, the rules for low value consignments from third countries, including changes in distribution and customs processes and delivery, are changing in the European Union (EU). Lithuanian Post is prepared for the changes, but it warns its clients about possible disruptions.

First change of command since the inauguration of the NATO Force Integration Unit Lithuania (NFIU LTU) has taken place. Colonel Jakob Sogard Larsen (Danish Defence) farewells Lithuania after having led the NATO unit in Vilnius since 2015.
