The EU has reached a crucial milestone with 70% of the adult population now fully vaccinated. In total, over 256 million adults in the EU have now received a full vaccine course. Seven weeks ago already, the Commission's delivery target was met, ahead of time: to provide Member States, by the end of July, with enough vaccine doses to fully vaccinate 70% of the adult EU population.

Starting autumn, four new routes will be added from Kaunas Airport. The directions will be offered by the airline ‘Ryanair‘.

Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis made an announcement in Prienai on the launch of a reconstruction project on a road section between Kaunas and Prienai, part of Road No 130 Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus. Reconstruction of this section is to improve traffic conditions for 11.5 thousand drivers who are using this road daily, ensure safe traffic and a speed limit of 90 km per hour throughout all Kaunas–Prienai section.

Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis approved two new members of the Board of SE Lithuanian Road Administration (LRA): Saulius Barauskas and Rūta Butautaitė Pivoriūnienė. Upon the approval, the LRA Board now consists of five members, four independent and one delegated by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

On August 17 the first Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) procured by the Lithuanian Armed Forces from the United States of America were unveiled publicly in Rukla. At the ceremony held at the Mechanized Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf Vice Minster of National Defence Margiris Abukevičius said that the acquisition was a particularly important step in the modernization of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
