After the first six months of 2015, Lithuanian airports record the growth in passenger numbers in Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga by over 10% compared to the same period in 2014. During six months the three air gateways handled over 1.9 million passengers. Experts say this is related to improving economic situation in Lithuania. Based on preliminary data, in the first half of 2015 compared with the first half of 2014, budget deficit of the State Social Insurance Fund in Lithuania (Sodra) was by EUR 60 million lower. President Dalia Grybauskaitė will be travelling to Italy on a working visit on July 14-15. Three Christian families from Iraq, where they were religiously persecuted, have arrived to Vilnius.
