Although some parts of Europe suffer from high unemployment rates and employers in other parts struggle to fill vacancies, relatively few people decide to look for a job in another EU country. The European network of Employment Services (Eures) was launched in 1993 to help with this. The employment committee votes on Tuesday 23 June on proposals to improve the Eures network as well as to further integrate Europe's labour markets and facilitate workers' access to mobility services.

On 18 June, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania commissioned by the Government sent a diplomatic note to the U.S. Embassy on enhanced cooperation with the United States of America in strengthening partnership in the field of defence and implementing joint military infrastructure projects.

On June 17 the Government of the Republic of Lithuania agreed to the ratification of the agreement with the Government of the United States of America which defines U.S. military presence in the military territories of Lithuania. The agreement also stipulates prepositioning and stationing of U.S. military equipment, weaponry and vehicles in Lithuania and enhancement of the Lithuanian Armed Forces' infrastructure on U.S. funding. The agreement will come into force upon an exchange of diplomatic notes between Lithuania and the U.S. and will be extendable with the initial term in effect of two years.

Today's economic governance rules for the euro area are not working as well as they should. This is because they are too complex, lack ownership and are not consistently enforced, say Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee MEPs in a resolution voted on Tuesday. This draft text, which assesses the record of the economic governance architecture so far and recommends improvements, will become Parliament's input to the 25 June European Council.

Last year, beverage producer Cido grupa exported 21 percent of its total produce. The majority - 63 percent - was exported to Lithuania and Estonia, 25 percent - to Europe, 12 percent - to Russia and elsewhere, as the company's general manager told Marijus Kirstukas.

President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite received a Star of Hope (Vilties Zvaigzde) award on Friday, 12 June. The award was bestowed during the president's visit to Tremtiniu Namai, the social care home for former exiles. Grybauskaite was honoured for merit in strengthening the Lithuanian state.

On 10 June, 2015, in Palanga, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Arijandas Sliupas participated at the special session of the workshop for civilian and military experts from NATO Transport Group "Logistics Supply Chains – New Challenges and Alternatives". During the session, the deputy minister introduced the NATO partners to the potential of Lithuanian transportation and logistics system.
