In order to implement the requirements set out in the legislation, Lithuanian Airports have started to prepare prospective noise maps, on the basis of which noise protection zones (TAZs) will be established for Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga International Airports. This will enable residents, medical, educational and recreational establishments located closest to the airports to receive compensation for their expenditure on noise abatement measures.

On November 6–12 NATO Air Policing Mission Detachment fighter aircraft were scrambled four times to intercept aircraft of the Russian Federation violating flight rules in international airspace over the Baltic Sea.

From 1 January 2024, Vilnius residents will have to sort not only plastic, paper, metal and glass packaging and secondary raw materials, but also food waste. Residents of the capital will be asked to collect it at home in separate containers with orange bags, which will then be disposed of in mixed municipal waste containers. This will allow the waste to be identified by Vilnius’ mechanical-biological treatment (MBT) facilities, separated from the general waste stream and recycled much more efficiently.

At the 9th Lithuanian Tourism Forum, representatives of the private and public tourism sector started to develop a strategic document for the tourism sector - the Lithuanian Tourism Roadmap 2030, which will define the priorities for tourism development, challenges and measures to address them. During the forum, awards were also presented for achievements in Lithuanian tourism.

In order to speed up the construction of the Kaunas railway node on the European-gauge railway Rail Baltica, the procedures for buying out the land plots needed for the project are moving forward rapidly. The Ministry of Transport and Communications has received consents from private owners for the acquisition of 17 out of 20 land plots or parts of them into the ownership of the state on commercial grounds, before the approval of the special plan and the beginning of the procedures for acquiring land for public needs.
