The Board of the national Lithuanian tourism promotion agency "Lithuania travel ", elected by the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, starts its work. The new Board will make proposals on the Agency's long-term operational strategy, analyse and evaluate the implementation of the long-term operational strategy of this public body and make proposals on the operational plan and its efficiency.

Development options were presented today at the Panevėžys District Municipality for Via Baltica – pre-design solutions for the section from Kaunas to the Latvian border. In preparation for the further reconstruction of this strategically significant highway in Lithuania, 137.5 km of road on A8 (Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai) and A10 (Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Riga) are planned to be renovated by 2030.

In the run-up to the NATO Summit, Vilnius City Municipality announces an updated traffic restriction scheme, which will be in force from 7 to 13 July. The updated map includes parking spaces and stops for service vehicles, as well as accessibility to public transport in the vicinity of the traffic restriction areas. Taking into account the security requirements for a major international event and without compromising them, some of the previously planned traffic restrictions have been lifted to minimise the impact on normal city life.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications was instructed by the Government on Wednesday to ensure the implementation of medium-wave radio broadcasts from the territory of the Republic of Lithuania in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. From April 2022, this service will enable citizens of Ukraine to receive impartial information from the Ukrainian authorities through alternative means. In 2023, the broadcasting costs will be covered by the Lithuanian state budget.

To improve the safety of e-scooters and other road users in the capital, Vilnius City Municipality is introducing measures to address the most sensitive problems caused by e-scooters and to clearly define the rules for their use.
