The draft law entrusting the management of the air gateways to an operator with a great deal of international experience was submitted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Though the summer season in aviation began at the end of March, most of regular seasonal flights at Lithuanian airports will start in June. Vilnius and Palanga airports will each welcome the arrival of two new airlines; flights favoured by travellers will also come back for the summer season. Avia Solutions Group (ASG), the largest Lithuanian-owed aviation business group, is setting up a cargo airline in Russia together with local partners. Hungary's low-cost airline Wizz Air will launch flights between the Lithuanian capital Vilnius and Nice, France, in early August 2016.
