Following a meeting with representatives from the defence and security industry, businesses and the innovation ecosystem, Ministry of the Economy and Innovation (EIMIN) has announced the first call for proposals under a €1 million technology programme aimed at strengthening Lithuanian airspace security.

Minister of Justice Rita Tamašunienė met with Grzegorz Marek Poznański, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland. The meeting discussed the issues relevant for both countries: the preparations of Lithuania for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and legal aspects relevant to national minorities.

Since Sunday evening, following the incident involving hot air balloons that entered Lithuania from Belarus, the Šalčininkai checkpoint has been temporarily closed and will remain non-operational for an indefinite period. No persons or vehicles will be allowed to cross at this point.
