Deputy Speaker of the Seimas, Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs, Gediminas Kirkilas, at his meeting with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) to Lithuania, Claire Lawrence, discussed bilateral relations, especially trade, security and international policy.

Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (EAPL) beat records of popularity. The survey support for the party has reached 5 percent in July 2015. This is the highest quotation of the party recorded in the polls over the past several years. The survey was carried out by the company 'Baltijos tyrimai' on the order of ELTA agency on 10-23 July 2015. The survey company asked residents for which national party they would vote if the Seimas elections were held in the near future.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė accepted letters of credence from Latvian Ambassador Einars Semanis. The President and the newly appointed Ambassador discussed important issues relating to bilateral relations and cooperation in the European Union.

On August 26 Colonel Miroslaw Wojcik was accredited as the new Polish Defence Attaché to Lithuania. He succeeds Colonel Zbigniew Szlęk who had been Poland's Defence Attaché in Lithuania since 2013.
