On Thursday, President Gitanas Nausėda attends a meeting of the European Political Community in Granada, Spain. On the sidelines of the event, the Head of State met with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von de Leyen.

On 5–6 October in Granada, President Gitanas Nausėda will participate in the meetings of the European Political Community and the European Council.

September 28, minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas met with Ambassador of Estonia to Lithuania HE Kaimo Kuusk to discuss bilateral cooperation and mutual efforts in support of Ukraine.

On 27 September, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis met with the new Ambassador of Sweden to Lithuania Lars Wahlund to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation, strengthening regional security and collaboration, and supporting Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression.

The Seimas has adopted amendments to the Law on Welfare and Protection of Animals, thereby prohibiting the keeping, breeding, sale or any other transfer and killing of farmed fur animals for their fur. The amendments were adopted by 68 votes in favour, with 25 votes against and 15 abstentions.

Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Gen Bryan P. Fenton and an accompanying delegation were conducting a visit in Lithuania this week. Gen Bryan P. Fenton had meetings with Chief of Defence Gen Valdemaras Rupšys, Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas, and representatives of the Lithuanian Special Operations Forces at which the cooperation between Lithuanian and U.S. Special Operations Forces was addressed.
