Earlier this week, the honorary doctors’ community of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) was joined by a new member, Professor Cornelius Herstatt, Professor at Hamburg University of Technology, Head of Technology and Innovation Management Department. The Honorary Doctorate to Prof Herstatt was awarded for continuous partnership in research and education in the field of technology and innovation management.

On 4 December, Vilnius University held a second round table event, devoted to mobility schemes and their impact on researchers’ career development and skills. Researchers and administrative staff from Lithuania’s universities were introduced to “Horizon 2020” Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions: Research and Innovation Staff Exchanges (RISE), Innovative Training Networks (ITN), Individual fellowships (IF), and Cofunding of Research Programs (COFUND) by Dr. C. Reynolds (Research Executive Agency).

On 26th of November, The Research Council of Lithuania organized a “Horizon 2020” (H2020) Information day, as an example of good practice - project “Alliance4life” (A4Life) was presented. Presentation was followed by the discussion: “Is it Worth Participating in International Science Programs?”

This year, Kaunas City Science Prize was awarded to Professor Jurgis Kazimieras Staniškis, a true member of Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, the founder of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Institute of Environmental Engineering. Prof Staniškis was the only representative of Eastern Europe on the United Nations Sustainable Development Experts Board, the independent group of 15 scientists appointed to draft the Global Sustainable Development Report.

In Vilnius everything – from theater to cinema, from food to bookstores, ballet and even buildings - is of interest to 28-year-old doctoral student Siqi Yang from China’s Beijing Normal University.

Dec. 4th, 2019, the journal, "Reitingai" (Ratings), announced Lithuania's university studies ratings for fall/winter 2019. Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) again confirmed its leading position as a specialized social sciences University.

“It is a privilege to use this experience to make connections with people. And we are here in Lithuania with the delegation of Canada so that we make those connections”, said Canada’s 29th Governor General, Her Excellency Julie Payette who visited Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) last week.

Dec. 16-17th, 2019, in MRU's I-414 aud., Lecturer Prof. Ray Smith from the U.S. will present a seminar: Importance of Emotional Intelligence in a Leader. The seminar will be held Dec. 16th at 18:00 hrs. and Dec. 17th at 13:00 hr. in I-414 aud.

November 19th, 2019, Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Law School Dean Prof. Lyra Jakulevičienė signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Narxoz Law and Public Policy Dean Prof. Stanislav Buyanskiy in Kazakhstan. The agreement is a result of a fruitful dialogue process between the two universities.
