Two years ago, Aidas graduated from Software Systems bachelors at KTU Faculty of Informatics. The 165 000 current Erasmus+ exchange students and 5000 EU volunteers need reassurance that they will be reimbursed and retain their status, MEPs say. In order to complete this semester properly and as efficiently as possible, the Senate of Vilnius University (VU) has decided to carry out all study activities at VU remotely until the end of the spring semester. The coronavirus pandemic is changing everyone’s daily lives in Lithuania and all over the world. Study and work processes are carried out remotely and we spend a lot of time at home. This poses serious challenges not only to our physical but also – mental health: “We are worried about our loved ones and our health, about economic difficulties, limited social roles, and our work or studies. We experience helplessness because we cannot predict the extent of the virus’s spread or how soon the crisis will end. All of this has a negative impact on our mental health,” said Dr Jelena Stanislavoviene, a lecturer of the Public Health Department of the Institute of Health Science of the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University. During the coronavirus pandemic due to the shortage most of the residents working with infected patients don't have the proper protective equipment. From Monday, March 30, the study process at Kaunas University of Technology is starting again after a short break. The University teachers and administration have accomplished great work by preparing to move the study process online. The studying remotely will continue at least until April 25. An electronic education platform crashed on Monday, the 1st day of remote schooling, in Lithuania as it failed to withstand the workload. |
