Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) has signed a cooperation agreement with IT and technology accelerator Tesonet. The company agreed to work together with the KTU Faculty of Informatics. Among other things, this means that Tesonet will be involved in the training of IT and IT engineering students.

Significant changes have taken place at the Institute of Dentistry of the Faculty of Medicine (MF) of Vilnius University (VU). This scientifically accomplished unit has always been open to experiments, social and technological development and educates highly qualified dentists, specialists and future scientist in both – Lithuanian and English, who make the name of the University famous not only in the country, but also abroad. Now the management of the Institute is being taken over by a Professor and a Doctor of biomedical sciences Vilma Brukienė. She will be replacing Prof Dr Vytautė Pečiulienė, who has started managing the Žalgiris Clinic of Vilnius University Hospital (VUL).

Icebreakers 2020, organised by University of Latvia Student Business Incubator, university conference introducing successful startups, entrepreneurs and innovative ideas will take place on 9th October 2020. 70 speakers, more than 1 200 visitors are expected in the conference, which will be hosted online this year. Laurynas Sabonis, Business Development Manager of Aciety startup is among the speakers of the conference. Aciety is one of more than 70 startups conceived at KTU Startup Space.

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University changed its brand name. The full university’s name – Vilnius Gediminas Technical University – remains, but from now on Vilnius Tech will be used in the university’s public communication instead of VGTU. Also, the university has a new logo and a new visual identity.

The poor results of this year's secondary-school graduation exam in mathematics have highlighted the need for systemic change in general education and greater assistance for students.

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and Henan University of Science and Technology (HAUST) held a video conference to strengthen the cooperation between two universities and to discuss the development of joint programme in Civil Engineering aproved by Chinese Ministry of Education.

The Commission will support 23 new research projects with €128 million in response to the continuing coronavirus pandemic. Researchers of the Institute of Applied Electrodynamics and Telecommunications of Vilnius University (VU) Faculty of Physics, Dr Andrius Džiaugys and Prof Jūras Banys, have published the results of their research in the prestigious journal Nature Communications. This work is the result of a long-lasting cooperation between the Laboratory of Microwave Spectroscopy and Uzhgorod National University (Ukraine) as well as the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (USA). The experimental research was carried out in the USA after A. Džiaugys was awarded with the prestigious BAFF (Baltic - American Freedom Foundation) scholarship.

Lithuania and Poland have on Monday renewed their agreement on the possibility for their citizens to study at each other's universities and on the recognition of educational qualifications and academic and art degrees.
