On October 8 – 9, 2013, the 28th conference of the European Board of National Archivists (EBNA) and the 15th meeting of the European Archives Group (EAG) take place in the Conference Centre of the Radisson Blue Hotel Lietuva. The events are related to the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and are organised by the Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania. Šarūnas Birutis, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, is to make his welcome speech to the participants of the conference.

The Baltic Course with reference to the news agency ELTA writes that although in the last seven years the number of schoolchildren in Lithuania's schools decreased by almost a third, but in new school year of 2013 there are 2,000 more first graders compared to 2012.

Lithuania-based company Neurotechnology has announced course for developers training, the company said in a statement.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with the Vice-President of the European Commission, European Commissioner for Digital Agenda, Neelie Kroes. The meeting focused on key tasks of the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council in building digital market, as well as preparations for one of the major events to be held during Lithuania's Presidency this coming November in Vilnius - Conference on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT 2013).

On September 30 – October 1 the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council hosted the conference "Enhancement of European International Cooperation and Eastern Partnership in research, development and innovation" (EEP2013) in Vilnius. The conference focused on cooperation in RDI at the international level with special emphasis on Eastern Partnership countries in the context of the European Research Area, Innovation Union, Europe 2020 and Eastern Partnership Roadmap initiatives.

The Informal Meeting of Ministers for Culture and Audiovisual Affairs will be one of the main events in the field of culture and audiovisual affairs organized by the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

On September 19–22 the Director of the Institute of University Studies Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jūratė Guščinskienė and Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dileta Jatautaitė were invited to the conference INTERMAR FOR ALL on reciprocal understanding and learning of languages at the Escola Naval Academy in Portugal. INTERMAR is a European Cooperation Project funded by the EU Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme.

On the second day meeting of the EU Competitiveness Council on September 27, The EU research ministers focused on innovations as the core of the Europe's competitiveness. The meeting was chaired by the Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science Dainius Pavalkis.
