According to the date presented by the market and public opinion research company Spinter research, people aged 18-48 years old, having the higher education, earning more than the average salary and living in the cities are using the internet banking.
Lithuania's students and the managers are the most active in using the internet banking. 90% of the managers and 71% of the students are using the internet banking for the personal commission and payments for services.
The seniors and the unemployed are less active in using the internet banking.
According to Swedbank estimates, 97% of all payments are currently performed using electronic instruments, and only a small portion - cash at the bank. Residents have learned to carry on the Internet not only payments, but also to make on services contracts. Statistically 1 of 5 banking services purchased via the Internet.
In 2013, the online cite Swedbank held nearly a fifth more transfers than a year ago, a 16% increase. The number of contracts drawn up electronically in December 2013, compared with the same period last year, had an increase 26%.
