EducationDear Colleagues and Partners, Eurimages, the Council of Europe's film support fund, extended a grant of EUR 220,000 to the film Seneca's Day directed by the Lithuanian director Kristijonas Vildziunas. Lithuanian game developers who participated in AppCampus, Microsoft and Aalto University's global mobile applications business accelerator programme, have been more successful than their counterparts from the other Baltic States. Ten Lithuanian projects have received funding for further activity since the start of AppCampus in 2012. On December 2, the delegation of JSC „Digital Construction", led by Director Dalius Gedvilas, together with the task groups leaders for BIM development in Lithuania: Dr. Vladimiras Popovas, Dr. Vaidotas Šarka and Dr. Darius Migilinskas from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), Arvydas Čibirka, the Director of ''Kelprojektas" and Dainius Čergelis, the Senior Specialist of Environmental Ministry, participated at Building Information Modelling (BIM) Conference. The conference was organised by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in London. On 19 December 2014 Vilnius University opened a new laser complex "Naglis" at the Laser Research Centre (Saulėtekio al. 10). Rotten WiFi, a public WiFi and 3G/4G watchdog, has measured and evaluated the quality of public hotspots in 172 countries worldwide, testing hundreds of networks. The collected data revealed Top 20 countries with best public WiFi. Lithuania tops the list with download speed at 15,40 Mbps.
