On Friday the representatives of Erasmus student network (ESN) from all over Europe gathered in Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU)to participate at the annual meeting of national delegates. The meeting will take place until December 14, and will address the issues of concern to international students.

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) participated at the European Higher Education Fair in India. During the fair in Delhi, Bangalore and Calcutta, our delegation presented VGTU first degree and postgraduate studies, as well as discussed possible contacts with potential partners from Indian high schools.

Vilnius University elected one of the main governing bodies – University Council yesterday. The new University Council is composed of 11 members: 5 internal members representing different fields of science, 4 external members – outstanding political and business personalities and two student representatives.

The Lithuanian Parliament adopted amendments to the Law on Higher Education and Research enabling higher education institutions to rent state assets to third persons under property trust agreements.

A sponsorship agreement worth more than EUR 100,000 has been signed by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and UAB Intermedix Lietuva, the Lithuanian branch of Intermedix, a US company that provides IT solutions for the US healthcare market.

The European Union and Switzerland are today (5 December 2014) signing a comprehensive international agreement associating Switzerland to parts of Horizon 2020, Research and Training Programme of Euratom and the ITER project. This will see Switzerland participate in project consortia in eligible programmes on an equal footing with EU Member States, while financially contributing to these programmes with an estimated €400 million until the end of 2016.

However, there is also so much in common, we can laugh at the same things, have similar life priorities. This is what the pupils of 2, 3, 4 (a, b, c) grades wanted to prove at the event "All Different - All Similar" on November 17, when they had an opportunity to compare our partners' countries – Germany, Czech, Italy, Turkey - with our homeland thanks to Comenius project "FVF: Friendship Via Flavour".

Are you 16-30 years old and do you run a project with a European dimension? From 2 December projects promoting Europe among young people can start competing for the 8th Charlemagne Youth Prize. Winning projects will not only benefit from recognition and media coverage, but also from prize money to further develop the initiative. You have until 2 February 2015 to register for the 2015 edition.

The Ministry of Education and Science in Lithuania has announced that the teachers' strike encompasses 15 municipalities. 30 education establishments are said to be on strike: 21 general education, 7 pre-school education and 2 children's non-formal education establishments.

Based on the information received from municipalities, the Ministry of Education and Science said that 300 teachers from 18 schools in 9 municipalities continued to strike on Thursday.
