The meeting will take place until December 14, and will address the issues of concern to international students. Vilnius University elected one of the main governing bodies – University Council yesterday. The new University Council is composed of 11 members: 5 internal members representing different fields of science, 4 external members – outstanding political and business personalities and two student representatives. The European Union and Switzerland are today (5 December 2014) signing a comprehensive international agreement associating Switzerland to parts of Horizon 2020, Research and Training Programme of Euratom and the ITER project. This will see Switzerland participate in project consortia in eligible programmes on an equal footing with EU Member States, while financially contributing to these programmes with an estimated €400 million until the end of 2016. The Ministry of Education and Science in Lithuania has announced that the teachers' strike encompasses 15 municipalities. 30 education establishments are said to be on strike: 21 general education, 7 pre-school education and 2 children's non-formal education establishments. Based on the information received from municipalities, the Ministry of Education and Science said that 300 teachers from 18 schools in 9 municipalities continued to strike on Thursday. |
