EducationLithuania's education minister calls universities to increase admission requirements2015-01-20, 12:31The Ministry of Education and Science in Lithuania has addressed higher education institutions urging to announce the lowest passing entrance scores in 2015. The necessity to establish admission threshold is provided for in the Law on Higher Education and Research. The EU has acted decisively since the early stages of the current Ebola crisis and is today announcing its latest actions in the field of research. Support to research is part of the EU's response, together with humanitarian aid, expertise, international coordination and longer-term development assistance. Youths from anywhere in the world are invited to register for Lithuanian International Student Services (LISS) and Summer Internship Program (SIP). More information on applications and registration deadline will be provided soon. In order to better analyse and predict business processes and their future, businesses enterprises use not only analysts' services, but also intelligent computer analysis programs. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) scientists have developed a prototype of software for business development forecasting. ANIMOCJE Festival (taking place in Bydgoszcz – North Western Poland) starts admitting movies for the competition. Creators from all over the world can submit their animations – features, experimental animations and video clips. Snow Meeting, a traditional informal discussion club, organised by the Foreign Ministry of Lithuania since 2008, will be held on 15-16 January in Trakai and Vilnius, Lithuania's MFA said. QS, the publishers of the world famous international rating of universities, introduced one more ranking for assessing the emerging European and Central Asian universities. According to the latest report by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), Lithuania stands 40th in the world according to its development in information and communications technologies (ICT).
