The goal of the awards is to encourage scientists of Lithuanian diaspora to foster their relations with a homeland, maintain close contacts with the academic community in Lithuania, participate actively in the community activities of Lithuanian diaspora.
Science Award competition is open to the scientists of Lithuanian origin or citizenship living abroad. Candidates may be nominated by foreign Lithuanian community and by Lithuanian scientific and educational institutions. In countries where there is no Lithuanian community, the researchers may apply personally for the Science Award.
There will be three nominations this year: for the achievements in research and development over the last decade, for the lifetime achievements in science and for the successful dissemination of scientific achievements and expertise.
The prize money for the Scientific Award is 3800 euros. So far 29 scientists have been awarded with the prize.
Applications will be accepted until May 31.
