EducationOn June 8-11, at the exhibition Expo 2015 in Milan, Lithuania presented six modern technologies, including one from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). In 2014, higher education and general government sectors spent EUR 260.5 mln. on research and experimental development (R&D). On the 13-14 of June, 2015, volunteers from 15 Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions and guests from Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Turkey and Greece came to Klaipėda to participate in the 24th National Platform of Erasmus Student Network Lithuania. During the event students were discussing about organization's current issues, shared their experience and, most important, elected the national board and coordinators for the upcoming academic year. 3 International students applying to the first year of Bachelor's degree studies at VGTU will be awarded a full scholarship (tuition fee and monthly allowance to cover study material cost) for the academic year 2015-2016. Students can submit their applications until 1st of August, 2015. Members of the agriculture, energy and international trade committees are visiting on 18 and 19 June the Milan Expo, the world exhibition whose motto is "feeding the planet, energy for life". The aim of the visit is to promote efforts to increase global food security, fight food waste and encourage healthy lifestyles.
