Reutlingen University is hosting a 4-week intensive Summer School from June 4-29, 2018.

"In terms of innovations in Europe we face a so-called "European paradox" – our universities and research institutions produce an enormous amount of significant scientific research which often remains in the laboratories," said Laura Supjeva, Strategy, Impact and Monitoring Officer at the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). According to her, communication and partnership are more important than financing, if we want transfer research into world-changing innovations.

On 18 December, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) will host the grand opening of its new subdivision, Andrei Sakharov Research Centre for Democratic Development. Focusing on issues of human and civil rights, the centre will conduct research into the politics in Central and Eastern European countries analysing whether they fulfil their international commitments to protect human and civil rights.

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Council has announced the public international competition for the position of the University’s Rector. The official start of the election process is Monday 11 December.

During an official ceremony on the evening of the 12th of December in the town of Urbino, Italy, the director of KTU Institute of Europe, one of the most experienced and influential European diplomats, Vygaudas Ušackas was awarded with the regalia of a special honorary degree.

To highlight and promote the potential for innovative cooperation between Lithuania and the United States, the American-Lithuanian Business Council (ALBC), and the Baltic American Freedom Foundation (BAFF), and the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius have established the Lithuanian-American Innovation Award.

The University of Nottingham, United Kingdom (UK), has joined the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), which has Kaunas University of Technology as the only member from Lithuania.
