In 2017 rectors of University of Tartu, University of Latvia and Vilnius University (VU) announced a joint scholarship contest for promoting the learning and teaching of the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian languages and culture. Last year Milda Dailidėnaitė, alumna of VU Faculty of Philology currently studying at University of Tartu, won the 2000 euro scholarship.

Following the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Programme Agreement between Kobe University and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), Dr. Artūras Serackis (Professor, Faculty of Electronics/Department of Electronic Systems) visited Kobe University (KU) from 29 October to 2 November 2018.

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) now has a Total Academic Headcount License for MATLAB, Simulink and the full suite of products available to faculty, academic researchers and students. VGTU aims to use as many applications and tools as possible that are currently used in the modern industry and the university is committed to continuous improvement of study process; thus, this is an important step towards further digitalisation of teaching and learning environments. VGTU is the first university in Lithuania and the second in the Baltic countries to have the full suite of the software.

Recently published QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA) revealed Vilnius University’s (VU) improved positions. VU remained in the top 20 and now appears at a record-high 17th place.

Nov. 2nd-3rd, 2018, a joint MRU and South Korean Dongseo University (DSU) Team participated in the Baltic gaming exhibition, "GAMEON 2018," at the Vilnius LITEXPO Exhibition Centre's 4th Hall.

On Wednesday, 31 October 2018 the results of QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia 2019 Rankings (QS EECA) were released. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) improved its position in 5 indicators out of 11 and is now one of the 50 best universities in the region considered.

For the first time in the Baltic States and the Northern Europe, the Feature Conference of Global Media and Information Literacy Week was held at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) in Kaunas, Lithuania on 24-25 October. The event, the 8th Media and Information Literacy and Intercultural Dialogue (MILID) Conference, welcomed about 300 participants from all over the world, including leading experts from the USA, France, Great Britain, and other countries.

Scientists of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania are developing methods for producing concrete without cement, using industrial waste – fly ash. The final product is as strong as the traditional concrete, is more resilient to damaging effects of acid, and more stable in cases of expose to extreme heat and cold.
