Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on provisional data, in June 2017, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade1 enterprises amounted to EUR 866.4 million at current prices, and against May 2017, seasonally and calendar adjusted, decreased by 1.7% at constant prices (unadjusted – by 2.4%).

Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on provisional data, in June 2017, the turnover (VAT excluded) of enterprises engaged in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles amounted to EUR 296.2 million at current prices and, against May 2017, seasonally and calendar adjusted, increased by 0.6% at constant prices (unadjusted – decreased by 3.9%).

Finnish-owned Forum Cinemas, which owns movie theaters in Lithuania's largest cities and towns, posted revenue of 16.415 million euros last year, up by 12.7%, from 14.56 million euros, in 2015.

The natural gas supply and trade company Lietuvos Dujų Tiekimas owned by the state-owned Lietuvos Energija Group signed a contract on gas supply with the largest Latvian natural gas consumer Latvenergo.

Polish-owned Lithuanian oil company Orlen Lietuva posted a net profit of 81 million euros (USD 93 mln) for the first six months of 2017, down 27%, from 111.5 million euros (USD 51 mln), a year ago.

Lithuania's energy construction group Enerstenos Grupe (Enerstena Group) has signed a contract worth over 3 million euros to build a 10-megawatt (MW) biomass boiler plant at a wood processing facility of Latvia's AmberBirch.

The European Commission and the High Representative are today reporting on actions taken and next steps to implement the 2016 Joint Framework on countering hybrid threats.

In order to further expand the geography of flights from Lithuania, for the fifth time Lithuanian Airports is inviting airlines to fly passengers from Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports to new destinations considered to be of particular importance for the growth of the country’s economy, promotion of inbound tourism and enhancement of international business relations. Airlines that will offer such routes will be granted financial support of EUR 200 000 from the Route Development Fund. Airlines are invited to submit their applications by 27th October of this year.

Statistics Lithuania informs that in 2015 enterprises of most economic activities provided services mainly for residents. Income received from them made up from 54.4 to 91.2 per cent of the total sales income.
