President Gitanas Nausėda had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Jüri Ratas of Estonia. During the conversation, the President and the Prime Minister discussed the most topical issues, including the preparation for the forthcoming negotiations at the European Council meeting on July 17, safety of the Ostravets NPP and the progress of the power grid synchronization with continental Europe as well as fight against disinformation and attempts to rewrite the history.

On 25 June, the Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Raimonda Murmokaitė took part in the virtual high-level Sudan Partnership Conference that was organized by Germany, the European Union, and the United Nations. During the event, R. Murmokaitė announced Lithuania’s decision to allocate EUR 25, 000 in humanitarian aid to Sudan. The funds will be transferred to the United Nations World Food Programme.

European Parliament insists that the future institutional framework must still include an ACP-EU joint parliamentary dimension.

Budget Committee MEPs gave their green light to top up support to refugees and host communities in Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon in response to the Syrian crisis.

On 23 June, the Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Raimonda Murmokaitė took part in the Extraordinary Virtual Ministerial Pledging Conference on UNRWA hosted by the governments of Sweden and Jordan. The event in support of Palestine refugees and UNRWA was co-chaired by Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and the Foreign Minister of Jordan. The conference aimed to ensure that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) bridged the financial gap and received sufficient resources to continue delivering on its mandate.

On 23 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the outgoing Ambassador of Sweden Maria Christina Lundqvist.

President Gitanas Nausėda discussed regional security issues in a telephone conversation with President Andrzej Duda of Poland. Gitanas Nausėda and Andrzej Duda agreed that in a meeting with President Trump, the Polish leader will speak on behalf of Lithuania and Poland expressing an expectation of stronger US military presence in Europe.

In a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez, President Gitanas Nausėda discussed the agenda of the euro area and preparations for the video conference of the European Council on June 19 that will focus on multiannual financial framework and the recovery plan for Europe.

Parliament recommends that EU and members states file a case before the International Court of Justice, if the new national security law for Hong Kong is applied.
