MEPs deplore human rights violations and all forms of political repression in Iran, Kazakhstan and Guatemala.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė is leaving for a working visit to the United States of America. The President will take part in one of the largest annual UN events – a high level discussion on Women in Power held during the Session of the Commission on the Status of Women. The President will also attend a meeting of the Council of Women World Leaders. Later, she will travel to the Pennsylvania National Guard headquarters in Fort Indiantown Gap and visit the YIVO institute in New York where documents of high historic value to the Lithuanian Jews are kept.

On European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism, President Tajani remembered all victims of terrorism, including Madrid and Strasbourg, at the opening of the session in Strasbourg.

On 5 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the new Ambassador of South Korea to Lithuania Mira Sun, who presented her letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė at the end of January.

On March 7, at 10 a.m., President Dalia Grybauskaitė will meet with Salome Zurabichvili, President of Georgia.

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis met with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar to discuss the development of the bilateral relations and future prospects for cooperation.

The Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Albinas Zananavičius met with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia. The delegation was headed by the Assistant Minister of the Directorate for European Affairs Zrinka Ujević. The delegation visited Vilnius on 27-28 February.

On 24-25 February, the first summit of the European Union and the League of Arab States (LAS) took place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. During the event, high-level representatives discussed opportunities for cooperation between both organizations and a possible response to common challenges: security, armed conflict, illegal migration, humanitarian crises, and climate change. In plenary sessions, the participants discussed regional issues, including the Middle East peace process, crises in Syria, Libya, and Yemen.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė attended the summit of nine Baltic and Central Europe states, also known as Bucharest 9, focusing on the further strengthening of regional security, defense and deterrence.
