On 10–11 November, the meeting of the Chairpersons of the Committees on Social Affairs and Labour (hereinafter – 'Meeting'), Employment Incentives to Implement the Europe 2020 Strategy, will take place at the Seimas.

On 2 November, the airline company Air Lituanica started an all-day check-in service, which makes it the first company to offer such service in Vilnius International Airport. From that day on, passengers can check-in and drop off their baggage at any time convenient to them, for any flights on that day.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė opened one of the largest Lithuanian EU Presidency events - the European conference on information and communications technology "ICT2013: Create, Connect, Grow". The Happy Barometer app for mobile devices uses the iOS platform and appeared in the Apps Store this week. An algorithm for the recognition of human emotions created by the SkyBiometry Company was used for the development of this app. A version for the Android platform will appear in the near future.

The CO2 emission limit for new light commercial vehicles sold in the EU is to be reduced from 203 g/km today to 175 g/km after 2017 and 147 g/km by 2020, under draft legislation approved by the Environment Committee on Tuesday. The text, already informally agreed with EU ministers, also paves the way for achieving further reductions after 2020, and provides for the introduction of a new test protocol.

Ryanair, Ireland's favourite airline, on 31 October announced it will open 3 new routes from Knock to Eindhoven, Glasgow Prestwick and Kaunas from April 2014, as well as increased frequencies on its London route, which will deliver an additional 80,000 passengers p.a. and support 80 new on-site jobs at Knock.
