The Lithuanian capital company Komfovent plans to invest EUR 25 million and create 302 new jobs in Kaišiadorys District. The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation has signed an agreement with the company granting the project the status of a major investment project.

The Government meeting approved the proposal of the Ministry of Finance to complement the draft plan “New Generation Lithuania” with investments of up to EUR 1.9 billion — an additional billion is foreseen for business loans for green, innovative, digital technologies and the production and export of high added-value products.

Lithuanian Airports has announced an international tender for the selection of the operator of all the parking lots managed by Lithuanian Airports. The new operator will manage more than 3,300 parking spaces (existing and planned in the future) at three airports in Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga. It is being planned that the winner of the tender will take over the management of the parking spaces in the second half of this year.

The Ministry of Finance presented a package of tax proposals centred on convenience, economic growth and fairness. The presented package of tax proposals, according to Minister of Finance Gintarė Skaistė, aims to create incentives for more convenient tax payment, as well as to encourage businesses to grow and invest in implementing the goals of the green agenda and the development of innovation, while creating a fairer and more balanced tax system.

Lithuania’s economy continues to demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges. The updated economic development scenario of the Ministry of Finance foresees that economic growth of the country will remain positive this year and will reach 0.5 %. In 2023, the average annual inflation is expected to be lower than projected and to reach 8.5 %.
