Lithuanian-owned charter carrier Small Planet Airlines posted 223.1 mln euros in revenue in 2016, up by 22.6% y-o-y, however, ended the year with a loss of 3.8 mln euros after netting a profit of 19.2 million euros in 2015.

A total of 1.064 mln passengers went through Lithuania's airports in the first quarter if this year, a rise of 16.4% on the same time last year, Statistics Lithuania said.

Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on non-final data obtained from customs declarations, Intrastat reporting and VAT returns data, exports of goods in February 2017 amounted to 2 bln, imports – EUR 2.2 bln. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.2 bln. The foreign trade deficit of Lithuania amounted to EUR 250.2 mln.

Last year UAB ACME Grupė, a group of Lithuanian capital companies, developing, manufacturing and distributing technological solutions and products - increased by almost 12 % and reached the turnover of 373 mln euros in 2016. Analysis of fully-processed registrations’ data performed by AV Automotive Research / AutoTyrimai, based on source data obtained from Regitra (Lithuania), CSDD (Latvia) and Maanteeamet (Estonia), shows that new light-vehicle (M1&N1) registrations in the Baltic States increased by 10.6% to 17’979 units in I quarter 2017.

The Finnish fast food chain Hesburger plans to open nearly 40 new restaurants in the Baltic countries in the next five-six years, while at present there are more than 130 Hesburger restaurants in the three countries, according to the Finnish daily Helsingin Sanomat reports.

A new shipment of around 140,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Norway's Statoil is arriving to Klaipeda on Thursday, marking the first delivery of LNG to the fertilizer manufacturer Achema in the current gas year.
