The Co-operation Agreement in the Area of Innovation Development between the two institutions was signed on the sidelines of Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group being held in Nusa Dua, Indonesia, where Fintech issues are discussed at the highest level for the first time. Estonia's authentication and electronic signature solutions company SK ID Solutions is setting up a unit in Vilnius amid signals that regulatory changes might be in the pipeline in Lithuania. Circle K Lietuva, operating one of the largest service stations network in Lithuania, has paid out 20 mln euros in dividends to its sole shareholder, Norway's Circle K, this year after earning 22.245 mln euros in the past financial year. Lithuania's state-run railway company Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways) carried over 400,000 passengers in September, up 25% from the same period last year, the company said. Lithuania's Amber Grid to continue modernization of gas mains, to invest 16 mln euros2018-10-06, 10:35Lithuania's gas transmission system operator Amber Grid is starting the second phase of its modernization of gas mains, after which the company will be able to check the safety of four fifths of gas pipelines from the inside. Kauno Autobusai (Kaunas Buses), a municipal transport company in Lithuania's second-largest city of Kaunas, will buy 85 news trolleybuses for 29.4 mln euros from Poland's Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. Gas trading company Lietuvos Dujos Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply, LDT), part of the state-run energy group Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy), has sold another LNG shipment to the Netherlands' Shell, one of the largest gas producers in the world. Lithuanian banks and foreign bank branches posted 179.9 mln euros in combined profits for the first half of 2018, up 15.7% from 155.4 mln euros in the same period last year. Arunas Zimnickas, a member of the management board at Vilnius-based Maxima Grupe (Maxima Group), the largest retail group in the Baltics, has been appointed as CEO of Emperia Holding, the operator of the Polish retail chain Stokrotka. |
