The aim of the visit was to strengthen ties and boost partnership with the African Union on common areas of cooperation. In this respect, they met with the new leader of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat who took up office just two days ago. On 8 March, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Darius Skusevičius received the new Ambassador of Namibia to Lithuania Bonny Haufiku. Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister noted that Lithuania was ready to contribute in every way to the development of bilateral relations in the economic, educational and cultural fields, and to share the experience of reforms. In the meeting, the officials also discussed issues related to cooperation in multilateral forums. The call for a suspension of the EU-facilitated Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, included in a Resolution adopted in the Kosovo Parliament today, does not contribute to a normalisation of relations and is not in line with the commitments continuously made by Kosovo. President Dalia Grybauskaitė and other EU leaders are discussing the future of Europe at the European Council in Brussels. |
