For more than five years, Lithuanian Airports have been guided by the idea that it is not only important to ensure a good travelling experience, but also to keep in mind the well-being of society as a whole. In order to contribute to the everyday life of everyone in the country, Vilnius Airport runs a social initiative where hygiene products, drinks and other left-behind items are not thrown away but distributed to more than 600 organisations, including retirement homes, children's day care centres, foster families, people with disabilities and other organisations.

The Polish Air Force stays in Lithuania after completing the rotation in a reinforcement role and will take over from Hungary to serve as the next leading rotation of the NATO Air Policing Mission in the Baltic states. The Polish will be reinforced by the French Air and Space Force contingent which will for the first time protect the Baltic from Lithuania with France’s most powerful fighter aircraft.

The agreed rules aim to ensure that all kinds of products in the EU, whether sold online or in traditional shops, comply with the highest safety requirements.

"Austrian Airlines" will resume its pre-pandemic scheduled flights from Vilnius Airport to Vienna, the capital of Austria, from the end of March 2023. This route was suspended during the coronavirus pandemic, starting in March 2020. The Vilnius-Vienna direct route is of particular interest to business travellers.
