SocietyThe European Commission (EC) has expressed doubts about the plans of the Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy) state holding to build two new waste-burning cogeneration power plants in Vilnius and Kaunas, which, according to the EC, may keep the population from recycling. Lithuania's unemployment rate stood at 8.7 percent in early February, up by 0.2 percentage points compared with a month ago, but down by 0.7 points year-on-year, according to figures from the country's Labor Exchange.
