Finland's travel agency Timetravels will open a client service center in Lithuania's second city Kaunas and hire about 30 specialists in the next two years.

On 5 October in Berlin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and Germany’s Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Sigmar Gabriel signed an agreement on exhibiting in Lithuania the Act of Reinstating Independence of Lithuania of 16 February. The ceremony was attended by the Professor Liudas Mažylis, who discovered the document in the Political Archive of the Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt) of Germany. Pursuant to this agreement, the document will be exhibited in Lithuania for five years.

The natural gas supply and trading company Lietuvos Dujų Tiekimas, part of the state controlled energy company group Lietuvos Energija, has won the international tender for the supply of natural gas announced by AS Putnu Fabrika Kekava, the largest poultry company in Latvia. Putnu Fabrika Kekava, which is controlled by Linas Agro Group, became one of the first companies in Latvia to find an alternative to Russian gas.

Statistics Lithuania informs that in August 2017, compared to July, construction input prices decreased by 0.2%. The greatest influence on the overall price change was made by a 0.9% decrease in wages and salaries.
