They can also be tasked with drawing up a report to represent the Parliament's position on a legislative proposal or any other matter. They can also be asked to act as group coordinators, follow the progress of a legislative report or be in charge of preparing an opinion on a proposal. On Friday an informal meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Baltic Council of Ministers, chaired by Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius, was held in Vilnius. The Prime Minister of Lithuania, Prime Minister of Latvia Laimdota Straujuma, and Prime Minister of Estonia Taavi Rõivas have discussed the situation in Ukraine, preparation for the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga, and shared their opinions on the security situation in the region. Joint energy and transport projects have also been talked over. President Dalia Grybauskaitė spoke on the phone with the Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Ángel Gurría. The Secretary-General informed the President that the OECD Council consisting of representatives of all member countries had unanimously decided to invite Lithuania to open negotiations on its membership in this organisation.
